After my recent exploration to Colorado Wine Country and DrinkLocalWine’s conference in Denver, I’m pro-Colorado wine and learning about our agriculture, economics and winemakers.

Governor John Hickenlooper has declared the first week of June Colorado Wine Week  which is a perfect way to extend that knowledge and celebrate (on the Front Range) with Colorado Urban Winefest in Denver. They’re offering a series of events starting on May 30th to June 9th. There will be 42 Colorado wineries participating!

The series of events includes unlimited tastings, educational seminars, music and food vendors. The educational components are free and you can interact directly with wine experts and sommelier’s.

To Learn More:

You can learn about the events leading up to June 9th here and purchase tickets on their website: http://www.coloradowinefest.com/denver/. There are a variety of ticket options from general admission to even a non-drinker option if you want to learn, but not taste.

Urban Winefest supports local winemakers and grape growers by raising money and awareness for the nonprofit Colorado Association of Viticulture and Enology (CAVE). The festival is the sister event to the 20-year-old Colorado Mountain Winefest that takes over Palisade each September.
