Noosa Yoghurt

Yogurt is the perfect snack for me. When I hit the 3 PM slump I need to get up, stretch and usually put something in my belly. For me, I usually opt for Noosa Yoghurt. It’s rich and creamy and it started right here in Colorado.

Noosa, a beautiful beach town located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia claims they blend “Aussie Culture” with “Colorado Fresh” ingredients.

Noosa was founded in 2010 by Koel Thomae, a native Australian living in Boulder. Thomae tried Noosa a few years ago on a trip back to Australia (it is called Queensland Yoghurt). She called the family that owned Queensland and after dinner at a local surf club, they agreed she could bring their family recipe to the US and call it Noosa.

Other co-founders include Paul Mathewson, Grant Mathewson and Robert Graves have helped the company rapidly grow year-after-year (their first year they grew 490%) and now Noosa is available in more than 5,000 retail stores nationwide.

The Noosa Difference:

Noosa is made exclusively with milk from Morning Fresh Daily, a farm in Bellvue, Colorado. Family owned since 1894, the farm is known for their sweet, rich and 100% natural milk. The cows are on open pastures at least 90 days per year and they also are fed home-grown alfalfa and corn, devoid of pesticides. The cows are just 66 steps from the back door of the plant, where the yoghurt is made right on site, right after the cows are milked. Noosa’s yoghurt is also infused with local Clover Alfalfa honey from Colorado’s Beeyond the Hive, which is also family-owned since 1908.

This alone, just makes me grin. I love that the yoghurt is made onsite, right where the happy cows are milked to provide the dairy for the yoghurt. That’s special if you ask me and a huge reason why I love uncovering stories of local products, like Noosa.

If you want to get down with Noosa’s their flavors include honey, blueberry, mango, raspberry, strawberry rhubarb (my favorite) and peach.

With a lean team, locally in Boulder and yoghurt made right in Colorado, directly on site where the milk comes from the cows, you can’t go wrong with Noosa’s velvety, sweet, fruit-filled yogurt.

I, too, love Noosa. Honey and Rhubarb are my favorite. My favorite fruit is peach and I was so excited to see Noosa has a peach flavor. And yet… the consistency was off. Have you discovered this with other fruit flavors?

Jess that is interesting! I would imagine some fruits may change the consistency, but I wonder if that is there intention. I haven’t actually noticed it but I would encourage you to reach out and inquire. Consistency really turns me off if something is wrong…so I feel you!

      G’day Jess,

We are bummed to hear that the consistency of your Noosa was less than perfect. Please drop us a line to info@noosayoghurt.com so we can take care of you.
