Potluck Sunday is a weekly tradition my close friend Jodi started – bringing friends together to share their favorite dishes, laugh, eat and be merry every Sunday. I cover Potluck Sunday frequently and is a staple here on this blog. Follow the previous Potluck Sunday posts here.
I know, what a mixed bag. That’s a bit of what life is though, right? Exactly why there is no cuisine theme here as well. I wanted to share some delicious recipes that I created this weekend for Potluck Sunday.
Chicken Wings, Momofuku Style via Steamy Kitchen.
We love wings, but were in the mood for not fried and not just buffalo sauce. These wings are baked and the Asian-style vinaigrette they’re doused in are delicious. It includes garlic, fresh ginger, rice wine vinegar, Asian sesame oil, a little sugar, soy sauce and chili pepper. The recipe is here.
Polenta With Sauteed Chard and Gorgonzola via Michael Natkin.
I love the combination of healthy, sauteed chard and the sharp taste of creamy Gorgonzola. This recipe is vegetarian and gluten-free. It was delicious and is hearty for these winter months. Leave about an hour to stir and cook down the polenta. The recipe is here.
Vegan Lemon Cake via Parsley Soup.
My roommate is vegan and this was her surprise birthday cake. The beauty of this cake is that you bake two in an 8″ pan, and before you stack them, you sandwich it with a lemon/lime butter then ice the very top with a lemon/lime glace icing. The fresh lemon and lime in this cake, makes you forget it’s even vegan. For someone who is not a baker, this was easy and pain-free, not to mention delicious. This has no butter, no eggs and no dairy. The recipe is here.
